Dear Me,

I’ve got a bit of advice for the coming years kid, please at least consider these words throughout your life, believe me it’ll come in handy when you least expect it to.

I’ll start it off on the subject of Love & relationships. I know you have a high tolerance for ignorance and stupidity in people cause your not necessarily looking for anything from any one, but I’ll tell you this, you truly can become who your with. There are three types of people in this place: Those who Love, those who hate, & those who are stuck in between the two like us. Only let Love In your life, don’t waist your time with hate, it’s a useless emotion. If you need a gage, use the eyes & your gut, follow nothing else, peoples opinions on the subject are meaningless, everyone’s experience is different, trust that the eyes will always give away deception.

On the subject Of Pleasure, God I know you like to have fun, follow that joy till your overdose on it, just know that the less you have of anything the more enjoyable it will be when you finally get around to savoring it. Sinatra had it right when he said ‘Wrap your troubles in dreams & dream your troubles away’, listen to his music, that guy understood the beauty this place has to offer.

As far as conflict goes your going to see more conflict than most people, mostly cause you question everything in life, don’t ever change that, just know when conflict arises, your Love is your Gun Kid. Nothing murders hatred quicker than Joy. Your genuine laughter & understanding that nothing in life matters more than Good People, Love, & following your joy will kill any evil obstacle in your path. Believe me Karma exists, fighting & seeking vengeance is futile, don’t bother. When someone who hates you, sees your clean spirit full of joy & laughter, you’ve already defeated that obstacle. Your joy will annihilate all haters with envy, cause it doesn’t matter how much money, power or stuff you have in life, joy is the ultimate goal for most humans.

Ah, yes, procrastination is one of your biggest issues in life Kid, do Me a favor, when you think it, do it. I know you like to envision everything in your mind as completed and this process makes you bored at the thought of actually finishing anything. I’ll tell you now when I look back, I see nothing but what’s been done. Life is composed of journeys & accomplishments, dream but then you need to Manifest immediately, what are you waiting for?

Last but not least I’m gonna inform you that your most satisfying endeavors in life consist of using your fear as conquering weapon of obstacles. If you fear it, run towards it like a train kid, life is short, and if humans have multiple lives the best way to assure you will evolve your soul efficiently in every lifetime is follow your fears and conquer them like obstacles between your soul & the next plateau after Earth. I Love You, stop being such a prude about sex too, you may dismiss your husband one day by being too careful.

1-You have come far since your role in Girlfight? Could you have envisoned this back in 2000?

2- What impact did it have for you growing up with a father in the military and mother in a Jehovah witness, both very disciplined arts. Advantages-disavantages?

3-You moved around a lot. How did you keep your head through these times? Does it kind of mirror the life of an actor?

5-What was your favorite filming experience?

6-You play Ana Lucia Cortez in Lost. How was the experience? Also what do you like better, film or television

8- You have a lot of supporting roles but get great parts, why is that?

9- You did the film about the trijillo govt in Tropico de sangre. How close to the heart was that project?

10-The question of how far women have come in the entertainment industry is presented to you. Is it better-or not. What needs to be done to improve.

11- What is next for Michelle Rodriguez?

1.) I’m exactly where I want to be, and I feel to say with all the ups and downs to getting anywhere in life I would be lying if I said I knew ten years ago this would be My place in Life today. All i’ve ever known is I,m capable of storytelling and I knew I would pick up screen writing along the way, which is what I’m doing now.

2.) My upbringing was beautiful, My father did joining the Military And Mother was a Jehova’s witness along with her siblings but lets not let the mind drive one to think that my mother and father were defined by these aspects of their lives cause that would be far from the truth. I was way too young to even acknowledge what the military was growing up in Texas let along to see anything different in my father other than a green Army suit he wore coming home. As for my mother and the Charle’s T Russel Invention on the Jehova’s witness; My mother was a happy spirit always singing, and making homemade play-doe for me, kites for my brothers to fly, she barely ever enforced religious Law in the Home, My Grandmother was more of the influence of Religion in my Family, and believe me no one messes with Grandma. My uncle is preacher man as well, learned a lot about christianity, bible history, and I left it’s influence as a teenager around 14.

3.) Lets see I got my first passport at 7, pretty cool, the age when you have completely disguarded every single cell in the body generated by your mother. If you know about the 7 year cellular rejuvenation cycle of humans, it can almost be profound symbol to receive your first passport to the world at the age of 7. I’m happy living the students gypsy journey through life it’s stimulating enough to keep me interested in the world.

5.) My favorite experience was in Girlfight & Avatar, Girlfight I trained for 6 months ten years ago to box and gained 25 pounds of muscle in an experience of New york independent film making that I’lll never forget. For the true passion behind the story, the little money we had was proof that the people involved were involved because they really believed in the story and the meaning behind it’s political undertone. Avatar because I learned so much from Jim Cameron, a man with amazing knowledge of Science technology, physics, marine biology, really cool experience to pick his brain everyday.

6.) Lost was fun because i was living by the beach mother nature was a my doorstep every morning in Hawaii. I prefer film because with tv although you are in an amazing paradise like Hawaii, I have the Gypsy Itch that screams at my Soul every 6 months and I Need to travel & find new adventure, Movie make this process easier because every 4 months you move on. In television this process can be disrupted by an 8 month shooting schedule.

8.) Thank You, You get in Return the energy you give, so I’m just grateful to have the opportunity to express Strength & Will Power, soon that strength will evolve from a masculine energy into a very Balanced feminine Energy Hopefully Hollywood is Receptive to this Archetypical Character that has yet to be exploited as a main character in Commercial Hollywood films.

9.) I did work on a film project in Dominican Republic about Trujillo & the Mirabal Family, the Project was very close to my heart, I’m really Sad that the Production I worked on was so Amateur, because the story is compelling , truly profound about not only the liberation of women & Suppressed people in the Dominican Republic like my Mother & Grandmother were living there in the 40′s 50′s & 60′s but also the liberation of the intellectuals in the country. I can’t wait for the foundations of a film industry to be laid down in dominican republic because that place is beautiful and the youth is vibrant and ready to evolve and create an industry that can very possibly thrive if it’s driven properly. God Knows there is a lot of Talent coming from that Island it’s time to show the rest of the world what Kind of Heart comes from this little island Dominican Republic. Jared Diamond recently wrote an amazing book about it, comparing it to Haiti.

10.) All I have to say about that is it’s every woman’s responsibility once a person cares about social justice, it becomes I believe a woman’s journey to be mindful of good talented women and open, hold hands with, and partner with as many women as you possibly can, because only by women expressing themselves, to themselves, in unison being received by a male & female audience for Talent is the only way I see a possibility of balance in western society as a worldwide example in Media within the Hollywood industry. It’s not about Latino, Black, White, Girl or Boy, I feel the industry is truly about Life, Love, The Pursuit of Happiness in an Art-form that imitates life itself.

11.) Lets see I will DJ In Rio De Janairo For New Years, Visit Hawaii for a couple of Days, hit London for a mini DJ set during Fashion Week, come back to LA Writing a screenplay the Whole Time, end of January I’ll Shoot Out to Russia DJ a Nice set At a Film Festival In Moscow and Head to Austin to Shoot a Movie Called ‘The Home’, About a Nursing Home For the elderly that is Haunted. I play a Nurse with a child in the Film. After All That, During all That, I have absolutely No Clue what will Happen, Just Hoping for a Peaceful Journey through all the Chaos.

The Crew Members come from all over the world. Some are Belgian, French, South African, French-Canadian, Australian, & American. As soon as we left Port in Perth to make our way over to Hobart, I decided to get cracking on the workload & chip in. I ended up with Bastian in the rope locker at the head of the ship under the deck. Our job was to store this arm thick heavy rope into easy access coils. There’s not a lot of oxygen in the rope locker, its pretty warm and shifty always moving from side to side. After about the fifth rope I was dripping wet with sweat, breathing heavy looking for oxygen, pretty sea sick, and respectful to what these volunteers are willing to do for the next three months free of charge in the name of our future & the preservation of oceanic life.

I got to watch the sunset later on at the head of the ship, one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever encountered. Atop the sea shepherd’s nose I felt the freedom of flight. I could stare at the Horizon as the rough seas launch the ships nose several feet into the air just to cut right back into the sea upon its fall. I wasn’t alone; about three crewmembers came up from dinner in the ships Galley just to appreciate the sunset and the horizons natural beauty.

We were able to see about three whales breach the surface of the ocean yesterday. Sadly enough, that was the first time I’ve ever witnessed real whales in person, well in any other place than in captivity at Sea World. The French girl I was with began talking to me about the whale’s sleeping habits; how they never stop swimming, use half of their brain like dolphins to fall into a semi-conscious sleep, & how that’s why a lot of whales back in the US & around the world get killed by Cargo ships in Transit. I couldn’t help but to think to myself how lonely this crew must feel being part of such a small number of people that care about our planets future and are willing to put their life’s sweat into it’s preservation.

I sometimes can feel so proud to be part of a human species with such a massive ability to Love, Feel empathy and use these amazing, innovative, technological tools created by man, to nurture, care for, & attempt a maintenance of balance of this incredibly unique diverse & magical planet we have yet so much to learn from.

It amazes me that people can choose when to act like, I don’t want to say animals, because instinctively animals follow a balanced system of migration & sustainable consumption habits when their environment isn’t invaded by inconsiderate Humans of course, but I want say it amazes me that people can choose when to be intelligent and when to be ignorant, especially on the subject of resources & sustainability. It feels to me as if many ships have set sail, with various diverse and conflicting flags of ranging from flag representing dogmatic belief systems that seem to eradicate any sense of reason, research, or questioning capabilities in a human once on board to those that take a more holistic, ever evolving, & all encompassing approach to life at sea….

The Flag-ships represent: governments screaming ‘protect our tax investments,” corporations “more demand more sales”, environmentalist “we need to fight for this planet resources aren’t forever extinction is”, scientist & biologist paid for by corporations everything is fine for now, worse comes to worse we can genetically grow or farm the fish of tomorrow”, scientist & biologist paid for by ethical prowess “mankind is overfishing but the affects of global warming are what we should really begin to worry about” , Patriots for fishing age old communities “this custom has been in our family for centuries “, individual consuming citizens who may have never fished a day in their whole lives such as myself, ‘ I’m so glad I don’t have to eat beef, pork, or chicken, everyday’.

Let’s start with a government, use the example of Australia’s government, so far the loudest and most pro-active seeming government in the fields of Whale & sea life preservation. Australia has rules in place to protect whales, they won’t allow illegal whaling ships into their ports, they will call other countries nearby to do the same with whaling ships, and they have placed anti whaling laws into place to protect these creatures in nearby international waters. As a matter of fact American reps for whale preservation have gone to Australia just to see the healthy whales near their shores, as to compare them to the poor unhealthy whales of the coast of California, whales that were slowly being driven towards extinction by massive cargo ships and their conflicting shipment routes, that are now being shifted to accommodate the whale’s migration patterns. A lot of really great things are being done for the whales by the Australian government because of the enthusiasm of its people for the preservation of sea life and it’s delicate eco system full of beauty.

Ask what happened in the Australian whale sanctuary jurisdiction (within approximately 3,500 mile stretch of Australian protected waters), off the coast of Antarctica about 1,000 somewhat miles away south from Australia last year 2009. A well known story making headlines worldwide took place there last year around whaling season, where a Japanese whaling ship (Shona Maru No.2) Rammed into and sunk the Ady Gyl, (at the time a ship owned by Pete Beth registered in New Zealand was working with Sea Shepherd to Prevent illegal Whaling in Australian Waters). The ship was rammed into by the Shona Maru no.2, with people onboard the Ady Gyl as its engines were off & it was sitting in the water with the Maritime Right of way. One cameraman was injured with a severe blow to his ribs breaking them, thanking the Lucky stars no other serious injuries were caused by that particular incident. Of course the whaling ships Shona Maru no.1 & Shona Maru no.2 were frustrated because they were being bullied by a little speeding ship called The Ady Gyl that would repeatedly circle them hurling stink bombs and tedious paint balloons at their illegal hunting vessels.

What happens after? Well an incredibly angry volunteer who just lost his 3 million dollar New Zealand vessel (Pete Beth), decides to take matters into his own hands. He draws up a bill for his vessel (an invoice for 3 million dollars) the cost of his destroyed ship. He decides with the help of a fellow angry volunteer to hop on a jet ski just before dawn, pull up in bellow zero waters, next Shona Maru no.2 (a massive Ship Traveling at least 14 nautical knots per hour). Pete at this point getting clobbered by the wake of the massive ship makes an unbelievable leap up towards the spikes set in place around the ship to prevent boarding the ship. From the back of the Jet ski while his engineering buddy steers the jet ski through the rough wake Pete is able to launch himself on to the spike, cut the net with his pocket knife and board the Shona Maru no.2. Pete then climbed the roof of the bridge unbeknownst to any of the Japanese fleet and huddled on the rooftop till daylight. This was a planned tactic by Pete, so the Japanese wouldn’t hurl him overboard at night, where the visibility is harsh & successful recovery in below zero waters of a man over board is highly unlikely. A soon as sunlight hit the chopper goes out from the Sea Shepherd to find Pete coming off the roof of the bridge on the Shona Maru no.2 and the camera crew in the chopper are able to capture Pete knocking on the door of the Shona Maru no.2’s Bridge. An incredulous Japanese fleet member obviously on watch shuffles Pete and his invoice to the side as he looks around the side of the ship for a raft, ripped netting something to explain this New Zealander’s Presence on the Ship. With the chopper documenting every move overhead it was an instant decision to head back to Japan and have Pete dealt with under Japanese law.

What did New Zealand do about their citizen’s homeland registered vessel being Rammed by the Japanese and sunk in the middle of Australian whale sanctuary waters? Apparently phone calls were made but no judicial hearing was set, nor charges pressed against the whaling fleet for endangering the lives of those onboard the Ady Gyl. The Australian government is taking the Japanese to the international courts for the incident. About 6 out of the ten environmentalists I spoke to about the court hearing believe; nothing can actually come of the court system for up to at least 5 years. Australian citizens claim the soft laidback response by their government has more to do with Japanese Australian trade interest than the situation at hand. Seems the Japanese are a major importer of Australian exports, metals, woods, wheat, etc. Unless citizens or actual people are in Danger, its apparent that it becomes tough to get the actual help of the government to enforce their own preservation laws within that 3500 mile Australian stretch of so called protected waters. The Australian government has sent out their amazing fleet to stop Chilean sea bass fishing near the Mac Donald islands yet hasn’t really taken such actions to enforce laws against whaling.

I asked Zoe who’s part of the sea shepherd bridge crew now & has been part of the Sea shepherds crew for the last 2 years. I said to Zoe, well isn’t there a way to quantify the value of these whales into a clear economic standpoint? She retorted right away stating that, People come from all over the world to the Eastern Western and Southern shores of Australia to see these whales every Year, New Zealand as well, & that economy alone is worth at the least 2 billion dollars. I’m going to take a wild guess here and assume the massive section off the coast of Antarctica owned by Australia (approximately 3500 miles long) & proclaimed by it’s government ‘A Whale sanctuary’, isn’t just an empathetic statement towards the sanctity of preservation, but also a notion towards the preservation of quantifiable profits. If this is so & the tax payers money has gone behind paying for these massive Ice breaking orange ships, with heli-pads, & massive resources, then why is the Sea Shepherd out there alone enforcing Australian wild life preservation Laws. Well I guess it can’t be easy looking for 11 whaling ships over a stretch of 3,500 miles let alone the even longer stretch the Sea Shepherd endures along Antarctic protected water’s to find the Law-breakers. Apparently there has bin a law set in place signed by most of the countries caught breaking the law in 1959 that is supposed to protect more than the 200 mile limit off the shores of Antarctica, yet overfishing in domestic territories has brought the desperate to break the international laws. Especially since the only people seeming to enforce the law are a crew of so called rebellious Sea Shepherds.

The Sea Shepherd has taken on a massive job, using charity funds with a global task unit that should be enforcing wildlife preservation laws in less civilized waters, no? You would think Developed countries like the US would have taken on the task of creating Whale routes way before the whales off the coast of California face a 100 in population, mal nutrition & near extinction, especially since animal preservation seems like such an American priority. Think of all the organizations for wildlife founded in America, Sea Shepherd included, you would think the waters near our shores would be more civilized towards wildlife. I’m happy that at least its part of legislative conversation in the US, France, Australia, and many other at least wild life conscious governments, After looking at how Asia treats animals over all it could be a lot worse.

Now we should move on to Corporations, more demand more sales. I recall looking at a recent issue of national geographic where it demonstrated the fishing habits of the 1960’s and compared it to Today’s fishing habits. Wow, blew my mind, 1960’s humans were fishing in about 20% of the oceans on the planet, in 40 years with exponential growth of the population and the spread of capitalism & mass consumption we now fish close to 90% of the oceans on our planet. Think about that for one minute, were are now about 7 billion strong on earth, projected to be about 9 billion if we keep growing in population at this rate by 2040. Think about human excrement, how many pounds of human waist will you have excreted by the time of your death, not to mention how much consumer waist your responsible for by the time of your departure from this life. Thoughts such as these are usually invading the minds of people who are intelligent, caring, empathetic, sensitive, responsible, or plain logical individuals.

I find it intriguing that the international definition of a corporation is an individual, in other words to be treated like a human, one person. This process removes the responsibility from the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and anyone working under the umbrella of the Individual Corporation. The individual never goes to jail for killing people or animals. Governments may fine these corporations, but for the most part if the government depends on the corporation or individual to hire 100,000 of its citizens or pay millions of dollars in taxes, money will always out way the outcome & disciplinary actions taken by governments to adhere to fishing laws, animal preservation acts, pollution policies, clean air acts, and KIOTO agreement decisions made by congress. I think Corporations and Governments are just as dogmatically married as some Governments are to religion.

It’s sad but logic plays little part in democracy, plutocracy, & especially so in legislative bureaucracy. It’s almost as if the money necessary to innovate, find solutions, and restructure existing business processes in the name of sustainable evolution, becomes almost too inconvenient for those in power over the corporations and the governments attempting to enforce the preventative laws. This seems to ring true at almost any given time. It’s like government officials and CEO’s are married and in their short term stints in power need instant gratification to justify their efforts while in power. Since preservation and conservation doesn’t wield any instantaneous visible results, most government officials and corporation C.E.O’s make the decisions based on quantifiable results that may win them either more money, or more votes, leaving sustainability, preservation, clean energy and future innovation towards these efforts taking the back seat to instant gratification. This is where I see the loss of logic and the selfish greed come into play with these individual short term thinkers.

These individuals governing over corporations with the priority of profits & these government Officials focused on corporation reps paying for his or her next campaign run, among other self interest based decisions, well lets just say it all makes me question capitalism’s sustainability over all.

Think about it, in a world marketplace with a massively growing middle class population in China and India, many of which are adopting the American mass consumption habits exemplified by our culture throughout the last 50 years. Take a second imagine 2040 and the projected 9 billion people on earth. Think of all the people who die of hunger today, all the food that is thrown away in America, in Europe, in South America, Australia, & China, millions upon millions of pounds. Think of the waist coming from the growing middle class in India and China. Imagine them taking the horrible examples given to them by our American culture on waist ‘my TV broke throw it out buy a new one’ what of that consumer mentality:’ don’t fix it buy a new one mentality that has spread around the world’. All those air conditioners, all that OZONE layers depletion that hasn’t even happened yet. Think of all the countries like Dominican Republic tiny little place, with millions of people in it that excrete unfiltered waist into the oceans. Think of all the other little third world islands on the planet that do the same. Think of 9 billion people pissing and shitting millions of pounds beyond their own weight in waist into our oceans, for the fish to breath and guess who eats the fish. Yeah it isn’t pretty.

It seems no governments so far take amazing organizations like ISCU (International Science Council Union) or ISSC (International Social Science Council) seriously, a shame to me because these organizations are on a quest for real answers to these vast issues of sustainability.

So what solutions have corporations & science come up with, lets see: Ah! Animals like the snow leopard are endangered, they may go extinct, so lets extract their DNA cryogenically freeze it & preserve it to be cloned when they do become extinct. Okay, cloning sounds great, but did anyone stop to ask why is it that all the cloned animals have a way shorter life expectancy than regular animals made of natural processes. Dolly the sheep among hundreds of other cloned animals all of which die sometimes 6 to 7 years before their natural counterparts do. Do you want to eat cloned sheep, fish, or cow? Will you even have a choice? What of the genetically modified forest trees in Australia, a little test by a big corporation on genetically enhanced tree growth. Wow hundreds of trees genetically modified to expedite growth rate in an Australian plot of land near a river. Wow, it worked within weeks they got almost a years worth of growth, it was an amazing find. Cut to less that a year later you find Tasmanian Devils with tumors on their face, bird and nearby lizards with strange growths all over their bodies from what seemed to be contaminated water. A little testing showed the contaminated water ended just above where the genetically modified trees were being grown. Man has proven time and time again to be too lazy and short sighted to calculate all of the complicated variables necessary to appropriately practice these delicate sciences involving genetic modification. Either wait for a super computer to make these massive calculations for you, remaining true to the Newtonian dissection tactics of science or stop playing god your mind is feeble & not worthy of the task.

This brings me to the fishermen whose proclamation to the world is we’ve been fishing in my community for centuries it’s our tradition. I say to all the fisherman who over fish cause its tradition, Enjoy your tradition to its grave because it’s not I repeat not sustainable, and if you want to be ignorant to reality so be that, but tradition never supersedes mathematics unless your tradition is one of logistics and science.

To the people such as myself, who have never fished a day in their lives, but love to go to a beach on vacation, love watching national geographic, & can love sea creatures unconditionally without needing anything in return, To you and Myself, I say, ‘don’t eat fish everyday, research what’s endangered eradicate it from your menu’. Chilean sea bass for instance, I had no clue till I hopped on board the sea shepherd that this fish is an endangered species, with a made up name by the Chileans fisherman who profit mostly from its rapid eradication. The real name for Chilean Sea Bass is Patagonian Tooth fish, the Chileans have overfished this sea creature so much the only place on the planet you can get it in the wild is in Antarctic waters. The Australian Ships have actually taken action against this within their 3,500 mile territory, but it is speculated that this action is taken only to preserve the domestic interests in fishing of the Patagonian tooth fish. It seems these particular fish take longer to breed than most fish making it easy for their rapid eradication from the planet.

My biggest concern just as a citizen of the planet is the rate of extinction, its not sustainable and any human with a brain capable of calculating can see that its alarming, and scary, especially for anyone planning on bringing children into this planet. New standards of living need to be set now if we are to have a sustainable future. I plan on educating myself as much as possible on being self sufficient, so my retirement can be spent feeding off my own land hopefully off the electric grid. As of now Just a plan, the way things are looking right now a 401K and social security plan is for those who believe in fairy tails. It’s a good time to go back to the basics and learn how to live sustainably off land purchased. I’ll never stop giving of my time, sweat, effort and voice to organizations like the sea shepherd, Micro Financing and international Med Corp through this education process before retirement. Cause I know I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t share what I’ve learned with an audience that may never have come across the info if they didn’t happen to be a fan of actions flics and characters I play on the big screen.

I tell you a big dream for me is to take all misunderstood the juvenile hall children of America, and spend that 30,000 dollars per inmate a year and invest it into a military training program, so these misunderstood kids can in turn help to police the oceans & enforce international wildlife preservation Laws globally. The little angry child in me cries at the sight of crew full of heart, passion, energy, and purpose.

See a s a kid growing up in a city with tons of crime, lots of poverty and horrible schools, I know what its like to dream, feel lost, helpless & turn to Egotistic Tribalism (another word for Rebellious street life) as a result. See most of the races in jail systems are races with tribal mentality genetics, African Tribe descendants, Mayan tribe descendants, American Indian Descendants, Taino Indian Descendants, all pretty much new to psychological manipulation, Alcohol, and this new God Capitalism. Tribal languages are spoken through physical labor, family bonds, and protection of such. Innovation, manipulation, & psychological domination were fields of growth & evolution for these races of people, as apposed to fields dominated by those of the European decent who conquered the New World. Even centuries later you can see the slow evolution & growth amongst the great mass of these tribal descendants, myself included, as we adapt to this capitalist system. Changing a god from one of nature, to one of technology & money has proven to be a tougher transition for these tribe races I speak of, more so than the descendants of races who have been exposed to civilized life centuries earlier such as the Europeans & English or Bavarian peoples.

I may be generalizing and some may find my perspective strange or maybe even over simplified, but its how I feel especially after reading Jared Diamonds Germs Guns and Steel, & comparing those findings to my personal experience in these 32 little years of living.

I’ve been hiding out cause I guess i’ve been feeling highly pro active lately. Its kind of a strange sum up of life that happens for me every decade so far 3, where I look at my life, what I stand for as a person on this planet, and what I plan to do with the rest of my time here. Within this massive process of analyzing my life and looking at the minuscule impact I have had in the world compared to the massive impact I envisioned as a child, I ran across a really intriguing article about Feminism, generation gaps, and woman overall in todays American society. Susan Faludi took a peek at the feminist movement with all its generational conflict, historical complexity, and she analyzed pretty much the public feminist movement from the 20′s to our current contemporary times. Certain things in this awesome article really caught my attention for instance: commentary from a young feminist woman (Judith”Jack” Halberstam) talking at the new school about the future of feminism saying things like the following to the older generation feminist “For people of on generation to be complaining about the next generation not reading them, Give it up!, If You’re not relevant anymore you’re not relevant. Move on”. What does Judith or Jack believe the future of the feminist movement will look like; “What one wants to inspire is new work that one barely recognizes as feminism, what i’m going to call Gaga Feminism” she literally pulled out a powerpoint presentation with exerts from Lady Gaga’s video Telephone featuring Beyonce, as she stood giving her presentation at the New School in New York & she claimed that she believes the future of feminism will look something like what this ‘Telephone’ video inspires. Judith says:” Instead of becoming women, we should be unbecoming women- that category itself seems vexed and problematic’. When the writer of the article sees Judith later Susan Faludi told her she didn’t understand how the future of feminism could be the Lady Gaga Telephone video. Judith said: ” Adapt or Die!” to a 50 something year old writer, Susan Faludi. followed by her hermaphroditic explanation of the Lady Gaga video and how it dealt with rumors of Lady Gaga’s Questionable sexuality. Judith says, ” She didn’t deny them. She played with them. You have this great moment where the prison guards take off her clothes and say, too bad she doesn’t have a Dick…” I’m thinking this gender studies professor at University of Southern California Judith ‘JACK” Halberstam must have a valid point somewhere about the all encompassing symbolism embodied by powerful pop culture idols such as Gaga, but After writing a book called ‘Female Masculinity’ about hybridized genders, and as Susan describes Judith’s preference for men’s suites and crew cuts my observation leads me to believe Judith may be projecting a bit with her opinion about the future of feminism. Im a true believer in finding ones alchemical balance between masculinity and femininity, I will never mock anyones process in getting to that place if he or she even chose to, but seriously it’s not cool to speak about in a condescending fashion,or to belittle the women who paved the way for women like Judith ‘Jack” to be able to have a crew cut, a suit and walk the city streets without getting beaten to a pulp like years ago or still today in towns and counties in America.

The feminist of the 60′s marched with humans rights activist, and the feminists of the era also marched along with the black panthers during the civil rights movement. I don’t believe in death, I believe in transformation, so when someone like Judith comes out & says to the feminist of today that the aging feminist/activist are no longer relevant, it sounds absurd to me. If anything women should absorb the lessons from the past, adapt all the social network technology, media pop culture influence and unite with the aging generation to make change. The answer is definitely not figuratively killing our mothers for not understanding what one believes the future to be. More unity less fighting I say. Besides who really thinks we could solve the worlds feminist issues with pop icon idolatry, a bit naive don’t you think, I mean it’s an element of the answer not the answer itself. Unless of course you attach pop culture to activism proactively in a business like Live 8, a massive fundraiser with powerful women, like Gaga, Madonna, Oprah, & Angelina backing a noble functional cause like Micro Financing in third world countries created by Mohamed Yunus, promoted & restructured by the 7 Bar foundation. Unless such is the case, I truly don’t see how hot sexy cool videos help women in Africa who don’t even have a tv from getting their private parts mutilated in a tribal ritual at fifteen years of age, or how an awesome female empowerment movie will stop a House wife in India from having acid thrown on her face cause her husband doesn’t want her anymore, Or how An Amazing concert with no charity or NGO’s ( Non Government Organization) attached will save women in the middle east who are beaten for sneaking off to school for an education & driving a car. How can those videos take part in a movement to save any of the women worldwide oppressed by their own primitive culture, because the evolution from this horrible climate is what I believe feminism to be….

I get that pop culture and happiness, fun sex and play are all part of peoples overall attention spans today, but just cause thats where all the excitement and money is, doesn’t mean it’s the only way, means, or solution, to the great question of feminism. Cause honey you may feel fine today but the numbers haven’t really changed much over the last 30 years. As susan points out in her article: “The primary Hurdles feminism faces are enduring ones. Basic social policies for working mothers are still lacking and sex segregation in the workplace and the attendant feminization of poverty have hardly changed ( the top ten full-time jobs for women in the united states-secretary, waitress, sales clerk, etc.-are the same as thirty years ago, and over the course of their prime earning years women make 38 percent of what men make); male dominance over public leadership is still the rule ( men occupy 80 to 95 plus percentage of the top decision-making jobs in American politics, business, Military, religion, the media, Culture, & entertainment); Sexual & Domestic violence remain at epidemic levels ( nearly 20 percent of American Women report having been sexually assaulted or raped, and 25% of women are physically or sexually attacked by their current or former husband or lovers); and fundamental reproductive freedom is perpetually imperiled ( mounting onerous legal restrictions; violent attacks on family planning clinics; and no abortion services in more than 85% of US counties).”

It’s a lot to digest. All I’m saying is in a realm where men have ruled and may keep doing so for as long as they please, all seems great till that very masculine mentality gets to high levels of imbalance & mixes up with capitalism in an uncontrollable spiraling hunger for materialism. My fear is that this American example of capitalistic materialism is slowly spreading in the biggest populations in the world. The East will create a massive thirst for mankind to return to the nurturing motherly nature bound tendencies of the feminine aspect. I only say this cause if the biggest populations of the world come to have a middle class with the same consumption habits as we do here in America, we don’t have the resources to provide for that level of demand on this planet, nor the cleaning power to heal the air from the pollution it will cause, nor do we have the sustainability plan for such a leap that has already begun to occur in China. All I’m saying is when I see a Bollywood movie reminiscent of the American movie ‘Fast and Furious” in English and Hindi mixed, when I see a T.V. special on how India has opened up a bunch of MC Donald’s, citibanks & many other western mass consumption venues as in China, and if America, is this standard set & hypocritically followed by developing highly populated countries around the world, Should American Corporitocracy lead by example with their existing masculine dominated system motto : ” Financial Upper Hand is the only Bottom Line” or should Western Corporitocracy begin a marriage of the old capitalist masculine motto with a new feminist perspective of ‘Conscious Capitalism’ a term coined by Patria Auberdene. Where corporations look at the all encompassing approach to business, considering environment, resource availability, working conditions, & carbon footprint into the quest for profits and longterm sustainability.

I just hope when the men in power realize balance is necessary, that it’s not too late, for the planet, for our own healthy environment, and for our own psychological well being. Either way women have already begun emulating or craving to either to become a man or serve him, neither of which to me seems like balanced living. I believe people should be happy with themselves and feel complete before they look for a partner in life. So that instead of projecting what you need to feel complete as a person onto your partner you come together with someone once your complete with all your imperfections and quirks accepted by you and ready to merge into another life feeling good. Not like the jerry Mc Guire movie where he says:” you complete me”, instead it’s ‘you make me want to be a better person’ to share life as complete beings wanting to learn from each other, love each other, maybe make a family and die together. Men and Women have been doing this for centuries, some acquiring that happiness and some shooting and missing, but well never stop trying to figure each other out will we?

I feel ‘The feminine concept’ is internal, emotional, nurturing, loving, strong, Accepting. ‘The masculine concept’ is Providing, Reasoning, Creating, Externalizing, Giving, & Destroying. Both concepts are in everyone and one manifests as one sees fit, or as one may be genetically predisposed to act on. One day maybe a historian or anthropologist like Jared Diamond may say that those tribes that were goddess dominant and left ‘Nature’s Nurture’ the duty of women, were in fact the longest lasting civilization of ancient people without the need for Migration due to exhausted resources.”wow those tribes men from ancient times in south America ancient Africa used to listen to their women on notions of when to stop hunting, stop fighting, and stop chopping trees, those guys who did follow this maternal system of governance had their environment in tact for the longest”. I hope the world can open up to the feminine way cause if we don’t Im really scared for the future, Mankind is one child that needs both it’s parents Mother & Father.

I was walking in New York today with my head in the clouds, I was in awe, the architecture in New York is Amazing. All the alchemical symbolism on the concrete borders of the buildings in the business district near wall street. I’ve always been a lover of the organic, I was mostly impressed by trees, stars, and Animals, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve started to almost force myself to find the beauty in man made things, not just for what they can do for me like a car drives fast, or a plane gets me from point A to Point B, but I’ve begun to notice the esthetic beauty in the design of things. I’ve come to a realization that this art form is in grave danger due to the idea built by capitalist big business that ‘Quantity is better for business than Quality’. It’s the Ideal behind most of the petroleum/gas companies, fast food chains, & strip mall phenomena.

When I walk in New York and I look at the buildings and Parks, Im in Owe because design is modernism & alchemy speaking to you with its symbolism. The bundles of hey stacked neatly with a ribbon, a symbol thats very familiar in all the court houses and capitol hill government buildings. The gargoyles protecting the churches, the female and male torsos hard at work on some of the window boarders of various buildings. That 1950s metallic lining, the marble entrances, the brass railings, the amazing statues & obelisk in the central park area, thats all rooted in Mythology, religion, & sometimes just artistic appreciation for the fact that the artist’s architectural creation was surrounded at the time by Nature the ultimate creator, inspiring the architects, designers, masons & artist to be Grand.

I guess what I think I’m saying is I hope that an Anarchical capitalistic revolution happens soon, because every time I leave an amazing city like new York and take a long drive somewhere like from Los Angeles to Vegas, Louisiana to Austin my view of Nature’s beauty and inspiration is obstructed by what I consider to be ugly square fast food logos and gas station Logos and strip mall Icons and concrete buildings with no innovation or attempt at esthetic beauty. I hope that these corporations consider their artistic responsibility to inspire with beautiful architecture when they take up space, because I think it will help heal societies humor and sense of worth to know that people put thought care and love into their work even if it’s a MC Donald’s or Shell Gas Station. I believe the lack of beauty in the environment can create depression god knows America has enough of that energy to deal with. I believe it would help America Smile more if the corporations that buy up millions of acres of land provide america’s citizens with product should consider revamping their appearance. Hire local artists to individualize and give the corporation buildings an attractive inviting beauty, wether it’s making the building green friendly, or adding a beautiful fountain to the front, whatever the case I do hope it happens.

It’s interesting cause when I drive in Europe its easy for me to see that Im in France or Italy, It’s mostly due to the long indivual civilized history each country in the EU but I feel that it all comes down to attention to detail. When I’m home and I take long drives I have a hard time telling Northern Luisiana apart from Georgia, Arizona from parts of Nevada, all I see is Mc Donald’s Signs, walmart signs, shell Gas station exxon signs and every now and then off the High way after thirty Strip malls I see a mom & pop liquor store….

I KNOW THERE WILL BE AN ARTISTIC CORPORATE REVOLUTION I JUST HOPE I LIVE TO SEE IT. I LOVE TO BE INSPIRED BY COLORS, DESIGNS, SYMBOLISM…. I HAVE HOPE IM NOT THE ONLY ONE
