After 12 years of rewrites and development, James Cameron is now bringing his visually magnificent futuristic sci-fi creation to life. Cameron will be implementing the use of his own "Reality Camera System" which would allow for revolutionary filming in 3-D. He describes this innovative project as a hybrid with a full live-action shoot in combination with computer-generated characters and live environments. Avatar is currently nearing the end of filming. Various filming locations for the performance-capture photography, prinicple photography, and live-action shooting have included Los Angeles, New Zealand, and Hawaii.
